Questions about Navratri Vrat

Do all devotees fast for all nine days?

No. Some fast throughout, some observe only the first and last days, and others follow a family-specific Sattvik discipline.

What can be eaten during Navratri Vrat?

Common choices include fruit, dairy and regional Vrat grains or flours, but permitted ingredients vary considerably by household and region.

When should Kalash Sthapana be performed?

It is performed within a date- and location-specific Muhurat. The applicable Navratri and local Panchang must be checked.

Fasting severity is not a measure of devotion. Adapt the Upavas for age, pregnancy, medication and health conditions, and seek qualified medical advice when fasting could affect your health.
