Ascend the 210-meter Sivagiri hill by climbing the 659 steps, taking the rope car, or using the winch (cable car). Electric cars are also available.
Have darshan of Lord Murugan as Dandayudhapani (holder of the staff), depicted as a young ascetic with a shaved head and staff. The idol is made of Navapashanam (nine sacred herbs/metals).
Collect the famous Palani Panchamirtham, a GI-tagged sacred offering made from bananas, jaggery, ghee, honey, and dates. It is the only temple prasadam with a Geographical Indication tag.
Visit the shrine of Goddess Periyanayaki at the base of the hill before departing.
