Drive through the scenic Brahmagiri Hills forest to reach the temple at 900m altitude. The journey itself is spiritual, passing through pristine forest and mountain landscapes. Arrive early morning for the best experience.
Before temple darshan, visit the Papanashini stream (100m from the temple) to perform Pitru Tharpanam (ancestral rites). The sacred water is believed to wash away all sins and help liberate ancestors. Arrange with the temple priest.
Enter the ancient stone temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is built entirely of granite without any mortar - a remarkable architectural feat. Take darshan of the deity and offer prayers.
Visit the sacred springs (Sahya spring and Papanashini) around the temple. The pristine forest setting and mountain air create a powerful meditative atmosphere. Many devotees spend time in contemplation.
