The temple is on the banks of the Alaknanda River on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. Descend the steps from the road to the river-level temple. The original temple was rebuilt after the 2013 floods.
Enter the small but powerful temple to see the idol of Goddess Dhari (Kali). Only the upper half of the idol is worshipped here — the lower half is at Kalimath. The idol is believed to change appearance from a young girl in the morning to a woman at noon to an old lady by evening.
Spend time by the Alaknanda River near the temple. The confluence of natural beauty and spiritual energy makes this a powerful place for meditation and prayer. The rushing river creates a meditative atmosphere.
