Take an auto-rickshaw to the ropeway station at Gauri Shankar Temple. Purchase cable car tickets (combo tickets with Mansa Devi available). The cable car ride is about 5 minutes with views of the Ganga and Haridwar.
Reach the hilltop temple atop Neel Parvat. Visit the main shrine of Goddess Chandi (Durga), whose idol was installed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The Chandi Mata idol is considered self-manifested (Swayambhu).
Enjoy the sweeping views of Haridwar, the Ganga, and the Shivalik range from the hilltop. The viewpoint near the temple is an excellent photography spot. Visit the smaller shrines in the complex.
