Baijnath Temple in Bageshwar district is a 13th-century Shiva temple on the banks of the Gomti River. Built by the Katyuri dynasty, it is one of the finest examples of Nagara-style architecture in the Kumaon region. The temple is believed to be where Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva and gained the boon of invincibility.
