Take a dip in the natural hot water spring Tapt Kund near the temple. The water is naturally heated and believed to have medicinal properties. This ritual bath is considered essential before darshan.
Enter the colorful temple to see the 1m tall black stone idol of Lord Badrinarayan (Vishnu) in padmasana. The sanctum also has idols of Nar-Narayan, Narada, Uddhava, Kubera, and Garuda.
Collect prasad (sacred food offering) from the temple kitchen — Badrinath prasad includes dry fruits and charnamrit. Receive the tulsi garland from the priest.
Visit the nearby Brahma Kapal ghat for pind daan rituals, the Sheshnetra cave where Shiva meditated, and the five sacred hot springs (Panch Dhara) on the hillside behind the temple.
