Chitrakoot Kamadgiri Temple

Kamadgiri in Chitrakoot is the sacred hill around which Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana lived during their 14-year exile. The 5 km parikrama (circumambulation) of Kamadgiri Hill is one of the holiest pilgrimages in North India. The hill is worshipped as a form of Lord Rama himself. Along the parikrama path are numerous temples and ashrams including the Bharat Milap Temple (where Bharat met Ram and pleaded him to return), Sati Anusuya Ashram, and Gupt Godavari (hidden river caves). Chitrakoot is called the 'Hill of Many Wonders.'
