Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has officially launched its much-anticipated AI-powered online darshan slot booking system for the Sri Venkateswara Temple. The new system, developed in partnership with IIT Hyderabad, allows devotees to book specific 30-minute darshan windows up to 30 days in advance.
The platform uses artificial intelligence to predict crowd patterns and dynamically allocate slots based on historical data, festival calendars, and real-time temple capacity. Each devotee receives a QR code-based entry pass that is scanned at designated entry points, eliminating the need to stand in hours-long queues.
TTD Executive Officer announced that the system has been tested for three months with a pilot group of 10,000 devotees. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with average waiting time reduced from 6-8 hours to under 45 minutes. The system supports booking in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, English, and Kannada.
The free darshan (Sarva Darshan) slots open at midnight every day for dates 7 to 30 days ahead, while special darshan (Rs 300) and VIP darshan slots are available 30 days in advance. TTD has also partnered with Common Service Centers (CSCs) across South India to help elderly and digitally challenged devotees book their slots. Walk-in darshan will still be available but with limited daily quotas.
