Prayagraj: Where Three Rivers Meet

There is a point on the Indian plains where you can actually see two rivers merge - the muddy brown Ganga meeting the darker Yamuna, their waters swirling together in a visible line that stretches for hundreds of meters. What you cannot see is the third river - the mythical Saraswati, flowing underground to join her sisters. This is Triveni Sangam, and it is considered so sacred that a single bath here is believed to wash away the karma of many lifetimes.
