Samkhya: Understanding Reality Through Numbers

Have you ever taken something apart to understand how it works? A clock, a toy, a gadget? Samkhya does that with reality itself. It is one of the six classical schools of Hindu philosophy, and possibly the oldest. Founded by the sage Kapila, Samkhya breaks down everything that exists into 25 building blocks called tattvas. At the top sit two fundamentals: Purusha (pure consciousness, the witness) and Prakriti (nature, matter, energy). Everything you see, think, and feel comes from these two interacting.
