Founded in 1936 by Swami Sivananda, the Divine Life Society Ashram is one of India's most revered spiritual institutions situated on the banks of the Ganga. The ashram focuses on meditation, yoga, Vedanta philosophy, and service to humanity. It houses a library with thousands of spiritual texts, a hospital, and an Ayurvedic pharmacy. The ashram follows the teachings of Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realise.
Simple and clean rooms for spiritual seekers. Written permission required in advance from the General Secretary. Foreign nationals must present passport and visa at arrival. Not a hotel - this is a spiritual community.
