Saccidananda Ashram, known as Shantivanam (Forest of Peace), is a unique Camaldolese Benedictine monastery that bridges Hindu and Christian spiritual traditions. Founded in 1950 and later led by the legendary Father Bede Griffiths, the ashram sits on the banks of the sacred Kaveri River. It welcomes seekers of all faiths who are genuinely seeking God. The interfaith approach combines Christian monastic practices with Hindu sannyasa traditions, Sanskrit chanting, and Indian spiritual philosophy.
